LOOKING FOR SPONSORS:

Appalachian Spirit Gallery in a cultural partnership with the Town of Marion and Marion Downtown Merchants Association plans to implement the first annual “Art in the Air” street pole banner exhibit as a community art project.

This “show on the streets” will run from May 1 to June 31, 2012. Twenty banners will be available initially with a provision to add more depending on sponsorship and artist participation. The project theme is “Marion, Virginia – History, Music, and the Arts.”

The project culminates with an “Art in the Air” live auction.  Funds raised from the auction of the banners go directly into promoting the arts in Marion through the 2^nd Fridays Art Walk, other events and public art endeavors, to help offset project costs, and to provide a stipend to the participating artists.

·        $150 sponsorship with money due by February 7, 2012 by a check made out to Appalachian Spirit Artists Association.

·        Sponsors name printed across bottom of banner on both the art side and the ArtWalk Farmer’s Market sides.

·        Artists will submit sketches and sponsors can pick the design and/or artist they wish to sponsor.

·        Sponsor’s name to be included in press releases and on publicity materials.

·        Sponsors receive a $50 deduction if they purchase their sponsored banner at auction. Sponsors get to take home a beautiful original work of art with their name on it, one suitable for hanging in a window or on the wall of their home or business.

·        Sponsors gains satisfaction of aiding area artists by sponsoring and purchasing their work.

·        Appalachian Spirit Gallery is a 503(c) 3 corporation and donations towards this project are tax deductible.
