“ Old Faithful! ”

The title is painted upon the stove the main source of heating,

during the period of time the artist was growing up.

The painting reflects a moment in time, around 1977 in at the home of a friend,

in Washington County Virginia in an area referred to as Blacksburg.

While sharing Spiritual Truths about the importance of coming together and sharing with others.

The Truth, God looks not on the outside, but most importantly what is in our mind and hearts.

The background of the painting shows a young boy praying upon his patchwork quilted bed of many colors,

representing the many races of people and cultures in the world in which we live.

The child  reflects the guidance and direction of the Father Figure

and others in his life.

Located in the top right corner of the work, portrayed in the frame,

are verses of scripture from Proverbs Chapter 3, verses 5,6

“ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding,

in all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths! ”

These verses were first discovered by the  artist in his Mothers' Bible,  written on the back of a fan,  while cleaning

their home after a major flood struck his hometown Chilhowie, Virginia.

They have since served to give him guidance, whenever confronted with the Storms Of Life, and remind him

 “ God Is Faithful! ”
