| William Fields
William Fields was born and raised in Chilhowie, Virginia prior to, during, and after the Civil Rights Movement. His family home was located snuggly beside the Norfolk & Western Railway.
Those who lived there not only heard the sounds of the trains as they passed but also felt the vibrations. The vibrations continue on in the hearts and minds of those people, both white and black, who once lived in peace and
harmony beside the tracks.
After graduation from Chilhowie High School, Fields attended the Virginia Art Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia.
His work is now available as prints.
