“Down On The Tracks”

Born in Chilhowie Virginia, a small town located in Southwest Virginia, where he grew up prior to,
during and after the Civil Rights Movement.
His families’ home located snuggly beside the Norfolk & Western Railway,
Where, not only could you hear the sounds of the trains as they passed, but feel the vibrations as well.
Those vibrations continue on, even today in the hearts and minds of people, both black and white who once lived
together in peace and harmony down on the tracks.
After graduating from Chilhowie High School, in 1969 the artist attended the Virginia Art Institute
in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Today he works as Student Government Advisor / Leadership Coordinator at
Blue Ridge Job Corps Center in Marion Virginia, where he has been employed for the last twenty five years.
Along the way, this artist has learned that life is a mosaic of people, places and things each however perceived,
good or bad is a
Spoke In The Wheel Of Life, that helps to shape and mold us into the person
either we’ve become or ever hope to be!
