Downtown Marion Second Fridays

Founded in 2007 by Appalachian Spirit Gallery, Marion’s ArtWalk

celebrates its fifth year of art, crafts, music, food, and fun. Second Fridays

begin at 5 p.m. at Appalachian Spirit Gallery and move through businesses

in historic downtown Marion. Celebrate the continuing renewal of Marion!

 

A.  Appalachian Spirit Gallery *

Fine art, gifts, art consultation, special exhibits, and monthly openings. Art includes oils, acrylics, watercolor, giclée, stained glass, wood, jewelry, and fabric designs by local and emerging area talent. Member artists include Ned Johnson, Anne Hull, CiCi Brown Vesce, Duane Cregger, Marilyn Peacock, Avery Cornett, Sylvia Richardson, Dave Fields, Holly Thomas, William Fields, Terry Hayden, Marcy Sayers, and Suzan Sukle.

Five gallery artisans have been juried into Heartwood and gallery member’s paintings can be found in prestigious venues throughout Virginia and nearby states. “Music on the Porch” has included icons such as Wayne Henderson, Helen White, Gerald Anderson, Scott Fore, and Terraplane Drifters.

Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from noon to 5 pm and 2nd Fridays from 5pm until 8pm; other times by appointment or whim.

The Appalachian Spirit Artists Association is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization

with a mission to celebrate the arts, traditions, lore, and spirit of the Appalachians

and to showcase work of local talent.

Second Fridays: Artist receptions, gallery openings, refreshments,

and “Music on the Porch,” featuring area musicians.
